Our Story
Our Story at the Big Red Barn
The Big Red Barn was created from a deep love for kids, family, and the belief that a farm can be a place of growth, joy, and connection. Our staff brings extensive experience working with youth in many different settings, from providing ABA therapy support and working in elementary schools to serving as youth and family directors. That experience, paired with a genuine passion for supporting well being, shapes everything we do.
At the heart of The Big Red Barn is family. Owning a farm was always a family dream, and seven years ago that dream became a reality when we purchased our home. Since then, we have poured countless hours of love, care, and hard work into creating a space that feels safe, welcoming, and full of life. Opening our small farm to youth felt like the most natural way to share that dream and support the well being of children and families in our community.
Using CLTS at The Big Red Barn
Families can use CLTS (Children’s Long-Term Support) to participate in our camps at The Big Red Barn! To get started, simply reach out to your CLTS worker and let them know you’re interested in joining our farm-based programs. We’re happy to collaborate and make the process smooth and stress-free.
Not using CLTS? No worries! We also offer private pay options. Fill out our contact form to learn more about rates, services, and which programs might be the best fit for your child. We can’t wait to welcome you to the barn
Goats
Our seven goats are the heart and soul of The Big Red Barn and they know it. Always curious and full of personality, they love greeting visitors, soaking up attention, and turning even the simplest moments into laughs. Whether they are tagging along on adventures, sneaking snacks, or showing off their silly antics, our goats bring endless joy and help make the barn feel like home.

Hens
Our hens add a little extra charm to life at The Big Red Barn. From their happy clucks to their curious struts around the farm, they love being part of the action. Helping care for them, gathering eggs, and watching their daily routines brings smiles, teaches responsibility, and adds a fun farm rhythm that kids absolutely love.
Miniature Horses
Teddy and Copper, our miniature horses, bring calm, comfort, and plenty of smiles to The Big Red Barn. With their gentle nature and sweet personalities, they love quiet moments, soft pats, and spending time with visitors. Whether they are helping kids slow down, build confidence, or simply enjoy being around animals, Teddy and Copper make every barn day a little more special.
Pigs
Our pigs bring big personalities and even bigger smiles to The Big Red Barn. Always curious and full of charm, they love attention, snacks, and being part of the action. Watching them explore, interact, and show off their silly side is always a favorite and adds an extra dose of joy to every barn day.
Opal
Opal, our cat, is always close by keeping an eye on things at The Big Red Barn. Whether she is lounging in a sunny spot, popping in to say hello, or happily accepting a few gentle pets, Opal adds a calm and cozy presence that makes the farm feel even more like home.
